for campers entering 9th grade

Trailblazer camp will run for three one-week sessions.

  • Trailblazer Session 4: June 17-21
  • Trailblazer Session 5: June 24-28
  • Trailblazer Session 6: July 8-12

Your camper may choose to attend one, two, or all three sessions. The cost per session is $360, which includes a campout.

Trailblazer campers will learn outdoor adventure and wilderness skills, such as fire building and cooking, outdoor shelter building, knots, and compass/orienteering. Then campers will practice their new skills at a campout (details to come).

Campers can still choose favorite camp activities throughout the week, like swimming, creek play/hikes, crafts, rock climbing/rappelling, and field games.

The Trailblazers program will be held in a small group, with an emphasis on teamwork and learning how to communicate with one another. Campers will have their own director and 3-4 counselors. We feel this will be a great bridge from regular camper to Leadership Challenge (now for rising 10th and 11th graders).

As campers get older, they still want to play at camp, but need a little more of a challenge. We’ve heard from our campers at this age that they feel they can be at home and don’t need “camp,” so we hope this new adventurous program convinces them that camp is still fun and adapted for their high-school age.
